About

My work explores the quiet interplay between light, shadow, and memory through an intuitive painting practice that resists predetermined outcomes. Rather than following a fixed process, my compositions emerge organically, guided by instinct and the gradual accumulation of marks. Working primarily with diluted acrylic, pigment, and charcoal, I employ a soak-stain technique using both brush and sponge, allowing layers of colour to seep into the surface and create subtle transitions of tone and texture. My paintings occupy the space between landscape and abstraction, where remembered places dissolve into atmosphere. Characterised by an earthy, muted palette and an understated sense of stillness, I invite slow contemplation while evoking an emotional resonance that is both intimate and expansive.

I am a self-taught artist born in Belgium in 1983. Having spent a decade living in Ireland, where the rugged landscape and subdued light shaped my visual language and established the natural, autumnal palette that has become a hallmark of my practice. In recent years, I relocated to Catalonia, Spain, where the Mediterranean light has introduced a new luminosity to my work, inspiring softer tonalities and a renewed sense of openness. I’m continuing to develop a practice deeply rooted in the observation of place, atmosphere, and the emotional qualities of light.
